For Kevin Buitenhuis and Max Engelen from the Buitenhuis Racing Team i shot 2 short video’s for the Red Bull Under my Wing competition. The video’s were limited to 1 minute and must contain a part with the motivation from the rider to take part in this competition and a part with riding shots. Red Bull wil select 24 riders for a special trainingday with Jeffrey Herlings and Marc de Reuver.

It’s been long ago since i touched my videocamera. The interviews were shot in 720p 24fps, the riding section was filmed in 1080i 50fps. I cranked up the fps and resolution for smooth slowmo action and to do some little digital panning in the edit but instead the interlacing ruined my shots.. I will never shoot interlaced again.

Vanmacfieldday.com is an event-website that i created for my client vanmac.nl. From domainregistry till a finished website it took 2 long days to build. The purpose of this website is to “lure” as many visitors as possible to the Vanmac Field Day october 8 in Luxemburg.

To give the website some attention i started a small international AdWords-campaign. Hope to overwhelm Vanmac with tons of visitors to their event!

Some little testing with interval recording / timelapsing. Recorded with Sony EX1 @1 fps, played back @50 fps then converted to 720p 24 fps for YouTube. Also did some color enhancing..

With the heart failure and coma of my mom last 6 weeks were tough. But luckily she survived and is doing well right now. My dad, little brother and i are really thankful that she still is amongst us.

I also greatly appreciate the patience from some  clients letting me delay my services for them. I am ready again for some big projects that are allready in the planning.

For my friend Tjeerd Valk i made a relatively simple WordPress website for his business in machine rental, gardening and pavements.

I restyled this website may 2010 and included horizontal fold-out navigation and made it possible for Tjeerd to publish photo-albums in a simple way.

The 6th annual Lawnmowerrace in Hoogland was the first time i didn’t took part in the race organisation. In this way i could focus on my actionsports photography. The Jong Hoogland organisation did a splendid job without me, and so it seems that i can be replaceable.

One of the first events with my new Canon EOS 7D body. My Equipment is allready “pro”, now I have to learn so i can excell with it.

The day began with rain and a really slippery track. As the day went by it became dryer and dryer. In the last heats there was so much grip that even some of the lawnmowers could wheelie all the way through the straight end. Stupid as i was i accidentally twisted a preset-knob in the final heat of the specials (packed with action) which resulted in slower shutterspeeds and therefore some blurry images ..

Luckily, there also were a few good pictures. I hope you will enjoy.

Young Herlings dominated the MX2-class. Cairoli won the MX1-class. Super weather and a big audience!
Next time i’ll try to attain press privileges with such an event so i can come even closer to the circuit…

This week i saw a video report from behind the scenes at the Youthstream organization from Giuseppe Luongo. Youthstream is the organizer of the World Motocross and Supermoto championship. Approx. 130 people from Youthstream travel all over the world to make this championship and the tv (and internet) broadcasting of it possible. It would be very cool if someday i could work for or with Youthstream and do something in the international motocross scene!

Fien Vermeulen asked me to be her photographer for the Team Trend Award 2010. This is a contest for hairdressers. The hairdressers and make-up artists Lisette van de Meent and Veronica prepped Fien for the shoot. The theme for the contest was ‘climate change’, so we shot the pictures in a ‘cold cold’ wintersetting..
